It all started in December 2020 partly due to the pandemic, partly due to unemployment and partly due to the fact that he was consuming undisclosed numbers of coffees daily; Joe Gallo decided to start Good Good Coffee Company. With the notion of bridging the gap between the specialty coffee nerd (himself) and the everyday coffee drinker (also, himself) as his motivation, he set out to find a way to roast single origin coffee that would help bridge this imposing gap. This is when he met Abe Chen at Roaster’s Cypher and their journey began.
Growing up with a large Italian family, espresso always signified the end of any meal. Working in his families' restaurants throughout his teenage years, Joe knew that he would eventually marry his passion for coffee with his love of hospitality.
