In a unprecedented time of worry and doubt, one thing has certainly been bringing the masses (aka me) comfort:

a good f*cking drink.

There has quite literally never been a better time to bring out your inner bar star bartender and learn how to make a quality martini. So we've partnered up with our friends at 'Spirits With Smoke' to create our version of a classic - the 'French Press Martini'.

A little about  Calgary based cocktail smoking company 'Spirits With Smoke', founded by Antonio Querin and Meredith McNamara:

Together, We have over 20 years in the  food & drink service industry, with a special focus on cocktails from our recent work at One18Empire, a local whiskey bar in Calgary. We met up with Antonio (pre-pandemic) to try out his bespoke French Press Martini recipe, created just for Gold Door Coffee! Tony's twist on the classic espresso martini calls for strong brewed french press coffee (our featured roaster at the time was from Saint Henri), egg white to froth it up, vodka or bourbon, and fresh made Demerara syrup. Below you'll find recipe cards for both the martini, and the syrup!
